The KENNAMETAL 6371039 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with KTFST-series modular drilling systems. It carries the ISO designation KTFST09500HPLM and is manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide with an AlTiN coating applied via a PVD process. The tip measures 9.00 mm (0.3740 inches) in cutting diameter and features a 140-degree point angle with an HPL insert geometry. Two helical flutes and integrated coolant-through channels support chip evacuation and thermal management during aggressive cutting operations. Machinists and tool-crib technicians working in precision machining environments are the primary users of this insert style.
This drill tip is engineered primarily for drilling stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is suited for demanding applications including drilling through inclined exit surfaces and stacked plates. The standard spiral, two-flute, two-margin configuration maintains stability and hole quality in interrupted or difficult-entry conditions. It fits insert seat size I and is held in place via a clamp-style holding method, making it compatible with KTFST modular drill bodies designed for that seat size. Typical use cases include production machining on CNC machining centers where consistent hole geometry and tool life in corrosion-resistant alloys are required.
Designed for use with KTFST-series modular drill bodies accepting insert seat size I. The ISO designation KTFST09500HPLM identifies the correct body pairing. Verify seat size and series compatibility against the drill body before installation.
Installation and indexing of replaceable drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle locked and machine power isolated. Seat surfaces on both the tip and the drill body should be inspected and cleaned before seating to ensure proper clamping force and runout. Follow the drill body manufacturer's clamping torque specifications for the seat size I interface. Do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for grade KCMS15 in the target workpiece material.
