The KENNAMETAL 6371008 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with KTFST-series modular drilling systems. It features a 0.9646-inch (24.50 mm) cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a two-flute helical design with a 2-margin configuration. The tip is manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide and coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing heat resistance and wear life in demanding cut conditions. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting chip evacuation and thermal management at the cutting zone. This tip is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians working in metal fabrication, job shop, and production environments.
This replaceable tip is suited for drilling stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is optimized for applications including standard drilling, inclined-exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling. The helical flute geometry, regular spiral type, and HPL insert geometry work together to manage chip flow and cutting forces in difficult-to-machine materials. The clamp-style insert holding method and ZC seat size index the tip securely into compatible KTFST modular drill bodies. Functional length is 0.4823 inches and overall projection is 0.6815 inches.
Designed for use with KTFST-series modular drill bodies using a ZC insert seat. ISO number for this tip is KTFST24500HPLM. Primary workpiece material designation is M (stainless steel) per ISO material classification.
This replaceable tip is installed and indexed by a machinist or toolroom technician using the clamp-style holding method on a compatible KTFST modular drill body. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before tip removal or installation. Verify the ZC seat is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the tip to ensure proper indexing and runout. Torque the clamping mechanism per the drill body manufacturer specification found in the toolholder documentation.
