The KENNAMETAL 6371006 is a replaceable drill tip engineered for use with modular drilling systems requiring precise, interchangeable cutting inserts. Designed in the KTFST series, this tip features a solid carbide construction with a fine grain material grade and a PVD-applied AlTiN coating for extended wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The 8.00 mm cutting diameter, 140-degree included point angle, and HPL insert geometry make it well suited for demanding hole-making operations. Coolant-through capability channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, improving chip evacuation and thermal management. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This replaceable tip is intended for drilling applications in stainless steel and other M-group workpiece materials. The ISO designation KTFST08500HPLM identifies the exact geometry and seat size G interface required for proper fitment in a compatible KTFST-style modular drill body. Applicable operations include straight drilling, inclined exit drilling, stacked plate drilling, and other demanding through-hole applications where a standard helical, regular spiral, two-flute tip geometry is appropriate. The insert is held in place via a clamp-type holding method standard to this system.
Designed for use with KTFST-series modular drill bodies requiring a seat size G replaceable tip interface, per ISO designation KTFST08500HPLM. Primary workpiece material compatibility is stainless steel (ISO material code M).
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician during tool setup or tip indexing on a compatible modular drill body. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a vise or tool holder before removing or seating the tip. Confirm seat size G compatibility and verify the clamp mechanism is properly torqued per the drill body manufacturer specifications before returning the tool to service. Do not operate with a damaged or improperly seated insert.
