The KENNAMETAL 6370999 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with the KTFST modular drill system. It features a 0.9252-inch (23.50 mm) cutting diameter and a 140-degree point angle for effective chip formation and entry in demanding applications. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide with a fine-grain material grade and carries an AlTiN coating applied via PVD process, which improves heat and wear resistance at the cutting edge. Seat size ZB and ISO number KTFST23500HPLM ensure precise fitment to the corresponding KTFST shank body. Internal coolant-through channels support consistent tool life and chip evacuation. This tip is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals in production drilling operations.
This replaceable drill tip is suited for drilling stainless steel and other difficult-to-machine materials in both horizontal and inclined-exit applications. The 2-flute, 2-margin, helical flute geometry with regular spiral supports stable cutting and accurate hole positioning. It is applicable to stacked-plate drilling setups where chip control and tool stability are critical. The HPL insert geometry is optimized for the primary workpiece material code M, covering stainless steel and similar ISO M-group materials. Industrial machining centers and CNC turning-mill operations are the typical deployment environments.
Designed for use with KTFST-series modular drill shank bodies accepting insert seat size ZB. ISO designation KTFST23500HPLM confirms dimensional fitment. Verify seat size and shank series before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with modular indexable drill systems. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before removing or seating the drill tip. Use the appropriate clamp screw torque tool as specified by the shank body manufacturer - do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Confirm coolant-through passages are clear and aligned before returning the assembly to service.
