The KENNAMETAL 6370951 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the KTFST series, designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining environments. The tip carries the KCMS15 manufacturer grade with a fine grain carbide construction and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating for heat resistance and extended tool life. The HPL insert geometry and 140-degree included angle drill point are suited for productive cutting in stainless steel and other difficult-to-machine materials. Through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, supporting chip evacuation and thermal control. This tip is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in CNC drilling applications.
This replaceable tip is used in horizontal and vertical machining centers where consistent bore quality and repeatable tool changes are required. The KTFST series design supports applications including standard drilling, inclined-exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling. With a cutting diameter of 0.7656 inches (49/64 inch) and a helical, regular-spiral, two-flute geometry with two margins, it is well suited for stainless steel workpieces classified under material code M. The clamp-style insert holding method provides secure seating during high-feed operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replaceable tip for use in KTFST-series drill bodies accepting the X insert seat size. Verified compatible applications include standard drilling, inclined-exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling operations as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation and tip replacement should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered off and spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping hardware for the KTFST body to ensure proper seating of the replaceable tip. Inspect the insert seat for wear or debris before mounting a new tip. Verify through-coolant passages are clear and that coolant pressure is within the machine specification before resuming operation.
