The KENNAMETAL 6370903 is a solid carbide replaceable drill tip designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and similar short-chipping workpiece materials. Carrying manufacturer grade KC7410 with an AlCr PVD coating, this tip delivers thermal and wear resistance suited to demanding production environments. It features a 140-degree point angle and a helical flute geometry with a 2-flute, 4-margin configuration. The tip mounts via clamp-style insert holding into a seat size J holder body. Coolant-through capability routes cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, supporting chip evacuation and extended tool life. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production settings will find this tip compatible with the KTFST series modular drill system.
This replaceable tip is intended for drilling operations in cast iron workpieces classified under ISO material group K. Typical applications include straight drilling, inclined exit drilling, cross-hole drilling, and stacked-plate drilling. The HPC insert geometry is optimized for these interrupted and demanding cut conditions. The tip is designed for use in automated machining centers where coolant-through tooling is standard and repeatable tool changes are required. Its compact profile and defined seat interface allow consistent tool-length repeatability across tip changes without re-indicating the tool assembly.
Designed for use with KTFST series modular drill bodies accepting seat size J replaceable tips. Specific holder compatibility should be confirmed against KENNAMETAL KTFST series tooling documentation before ordering.
Installation of replaceable drill tips requires the machine spindle to be fully stopped and the tool assembly secured in a vise or holder block before tip removal or installation. A calibrated torque wrench should be used per the holder manufacturer specification to seat the clamp correctly. Verify coolant-through ports are clear and aligned before returning the assembly to service. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when handling carbide inserts.
