The KENNAMETAL 6351161 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Measuring 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle, this bit cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute pattern and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating for extended tool life at elevated temperatures. The overall length is 68.00 mm (2.68 inches), making it well-suited for short-reach, rigid setups typical in screw machine and CNC drilling operations. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management in deep-hole applications. It is part of the K210 Series, material grade KCMS15, and ships as a single unit.
This drill bit is used in precision machining environments including screw machine shops, CNC machining centers, and automated production cells. Its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. The AlTiN coating supports drilling in hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys where heat resistance is critical. Maximum drilling depth is 0.89 inch (22.60 mm), and it is appropriate for applications requiring tight tolerances and consistent hole quality in high-volume runs.
Designed as a screw machine length replacement drill bit within the KENNAMETAL K210 Series, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) shank diameters in CNC and manual drilling setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before seating the shank, as excess runout accelerates carbide wear. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant supply lines and pressure are set per machine specifications before starting the cut.
