The KENNAMETAL 6295930 is a PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride) turning insert in the KENLOC series, designed for high-speed machining of hard and hardened materials. The insert carries the industry standard designation DNGA431S0415MT in the KBH10 grade, an uncoated CBN grade suited for finishing and semi-finishing of hard ferrous workpieces. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With two cutting edges and a flat-top chip breaker geometry, this insert delivers consistent performance in interrupted and continuous hard-turning operations. It weighs 0.03 pounds per insert.
This insert is intended for hard material applications including turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring on hardened steels and similar hard ferrous alloys. The negative rake, negative side clearance geometry is engineered for stability under the high cutting forces typical of hard-part turning. It is held by clamp or pin in compatible KENLOC-style toolholders. This is a multi-tipped, single-insert package suited for production environments where consistent surface finish on hardened workpieces is required. The primary workpiece material code is H, covering material grades H05 and H15.
Designed for use in KENLOC-style clamping and pin-style toolholders that accept DNGA431 geometry inserts. Compatible with applications targeting hard material grades H05 and H15 per ISO workpiece material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of debris before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedure for KENLOC-style insert retention.
