The KENNAMETAL 6295900 is a CNGA-style cubic boron nitride (CBN) turning insert designed for hard material machining in CNC turning, facing, and boring applications. Manufactured under the KENLOC series, this insert carries grade KBH10 and an industry standard designation of CNGA432S0415MT. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a negative rake and negative side clearance geometry, making it well-suited for interrupted and continuous cuts on hardened ferrous materials. The insert is uncoated (bright finish), multi-tipped with 2 cutting edges, and uses a flat-top chip breaker configuration. Corner radius measures 0.0313 inches. Holding method is clamp and pin, consistent with standard CNGA toolholders.
This insert is intended for use in precision hard turning operations on hardened steels and similar hard materials in both production and job-shop environments. Typical applications include finish turning of hardened shafts, bearing races, and other components where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are critical. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured in the turret before seating or replacing the insert. Use the clamp and pin holding method as specified for the KENLOC toolholder; do not over-torque the clamp screw beyond toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before seating to avoid insert cracking during hard turning operations.
