The KENNAMETAL 6172397 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ISO designation EDPT180532PDSRGE and manufacturer grade KCSM40. It features a parallelogram shape with a 70-degree included angle, two cutting edges, and a right-hand orientation. The insert is PVD-coated with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish, which supports higher cutting speeds and extended tool life when machining difficult materials. At 5.50 mm thick and 10.50 mm wide, with a corner radius of 3.18 mm (1/8 inch), it is engineered for positive-rake face milling applications in the EDPT series. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping components for chips or debris before seating the new insert.
