The KENNAMETAL 6143964 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling of steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Built from solid carbide in the KC633M grade and finished with a TiAlN coating, it delivers the heat resistance and edge retention required in high-performance cutting operations. The tool measures 0.375 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut, a 0.375-inch shank diameter, and a 2.5-inch overall length. Three spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard.
This end mill is suited for ferrous machining applications in job shop, production, and maintenance environments. It performs in general-purpose milling operations including slotting, profiling, and peripheral cuts in steel and stainless steel components, as well as cast iron workpieces. The compact 0.375-inch diameter makes it appropriate for detail features, narrow slots, and tight-tolerance cavities. It is typically run on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where solid carbide tooling is required for material hardness or surface finish requirements.
Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to material codes P, M, and K. Part of the KENNAMETAL 3SE series. Fits any tool holder accepting a 0.375-inch straight shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and power isolated. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid impact loading or side pressure during setup. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut to maximize tool life and part accuracy.
