The KENNAMETAL 6143907 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It features a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life by resisting heat buildup at high cutting speeds. With three flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, the tool balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and manual knee mills where tight tolerances and fine detail work are required.
The 6143907 is suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. The compact 3/32 inch diameter and 1/8 inch shank make it well-suited for detailed slot milling, pocket work, and contour passes in confined areas where larger end mills cannot reach. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. It carries the KC633M material grade designation within the Kennametal 3SE series.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with a 1/8 inch collet or tool holder accepting a 1/8 inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per material codes P, M, and K.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or end mill holder before tightening to the manufacturer-specified torque for the holder style in use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to even minor concentricity errors. Carbide end mills should not be used in applications where impact or interrupted cuts are expected without confirming the workpiece setup is rigid and secure.
