The KENNAMETAL 6131543 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNGU series, engineered for high-performance indexable milling applications. Manufactured to grade KCPM40 and coated with TiAlN and AlCrN via a PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across demanding cutting operations. It features a rectangular shape with a positive rake geometry, a honed cutting edge style, and a GE chip breaker. The insert measures 0.4790 inches in length, 0.2598 inches in width, and 0.1875 inches in thickness, with a corner radius of 0.0310 inches. Four cutting edges are available on this single-sided, right-hand insert, making it a practical choice for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is designed for use in indexable milling cutters compatible with the Mill 4-11 cutter series. It is suited for both roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces in production and job-shop environments. The LNGU432ERGE designation follows ANSI standards, and the ISO equivalent code is LNGU110408ERGE. The screw-held mounting method and 90-degree included angle make it a straightforward fit in compatible toolholders. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert, as pocket damage will affect runout and surface finish.
