The KENNAMETAL 6131502 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNPU series, grade KC522M, designed for indexable milling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert carries a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) AlTiN coating that supports cutting performance in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry, and a GE chip breaker. The chamfered and honed cutting edge style provides controlled entry and edge stability during interrupted or continuous cuts. Four usable cutting edges are available per insert, making it a cost-effective option for production milling environments.
This insert is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and similar indexable milling applications on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in both job shop and production settings. It is compatible with KENNAMETAL Mill 4-11 cutter series toolholders. Primary material applications include steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and superalloys and titanium (ISO S). The right-hand cutting configuration and screw-in holding method are standard for this insert style. It is sold individually.
Designed for use with KENNAMETAL Mill 4-11 series milling cutters. ANSI code LNPU432SRGE; ISO code LNPU110408SRGE. Insert size code 432, series LNPU.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician using the screw-in holding method standard to LNPU-style toolholders. Ensure the milling cutter body and insert pocket are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Torque the insert clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value using the correct Torx or hex key. Index or replace the insert when visible wear, edge chipping, or surface finish degradation is observed on the workpiece.
