The KENNAMETAL 6123762 is a replaceable-tip drill body engineered for deep-hole drilling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built on the KSEM toolholder platform, this drill body accepts KSEM3651HPGM replaceable tips and covers a diameter range of 36.52 mm to 40 mm (1.4378 to 1.5740 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank measures 1-1/2 inches in diameter and 3.75 inches in length, providing a secure, concentric grip in standard drill chucks and toolholders. Through-coolant capability with a 6 mm coolant hole diameter supports chip evacuation and thermal management during extended cuts. The steel body is built to withstand the rigors of production machining. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
The 6123762 is suited for deep-hole drilling applications where a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio is required. With a maximum drill depth of 182.6 mm and an overall length of 342.85 mm, it handles demanding holemaking in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The flute length of 232.90 mm and body length of 247.60 mm accommodate chip flow across the full depth range. Applications include roughing and semi-finishing bores in structural components, housings, and industrial fixtures where indexable-tip drills reduce tooling downtime compared to brazed or solid-carbide alternatives.
Compatible with KSEM3651HPGM replaceable drill tips, Insert Seat Size 10. Designed for use within the KSEM series toolholder system. Shank diameter of 1-1/2 inches fits toolholders and chucks with matching bore specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the drill body. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Confirm coolant-through passages are clear and that system pressure is appropriate for the machine before operation.
