The KENNAMETAL 6113086 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built on the UJDE series platform, it features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and six flutes with a high helix angle of 38 degrees. The AlTiN physical vapor deposition coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making this tool well suited for high-temperature cutting conditions. It is a single-end, centercutting design with right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction. Machinists and tooling specialists in production environments rely on this geometry for consistent surface finishes and controlled corner blend on tight-tolerance features.
This end mill is engineered for finishing cuts in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its long-length configuration, with a 1.5 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length, supports reach into deeper pockets and cavities where standard-length tools fall short. The close pitch, six-flute layout is optimized for light chip loads at higher surface speeds. It mounts directly into standard straight-bore end mill toolholders. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling setup personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before mounting. Seat the 0.5 inch straight cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating any cutting cycle, particularly given the corner radius geometry which is sensitive to axial misalignment.
