The KENNAMETAL 6086562 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. With a 0.125-inch mill diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a TiAlN coating, this tool delivers heat resistance and edge retention in demanding cutting environments. The 30-degree helix angle and four-flute spiral geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finish. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.125-inch shank, it is sized for tight-tolerance work in small-bore and detail-milling applications. It is a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, suitable for machinist and CNC operator use.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and K. It fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.125-inch shank. The TiAlN finish makes it a strong choice for dry or semi-dry cutting at elevated spindle speeds. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and contouring in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter tooling is required.
Designed for use in standard 0.125-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO P, M, K). Part of the KENNAMETAL 4SE.IS-R-L-X series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine tool manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout on small-diameter carbide tooling accelerates breakage.
