The KENNAMETAL 6086561 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the 4SE.IS-R-L-X series platform and finished with a TiAlN coating, this single-end tool carries four spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle to promote chip evacuation and reduce heat buildup at the cutting edge. With a 0.125-inch mill diameter and 0.25-inch length of cut, it is sized for fine slot milling, profiling, and contouring in tight geometries. Material grade KC633M adds wear resistance suited to high-temperature cutting environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working on production or job-shop equipment are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is engineered for cutting steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, covering ISO material codes P, M, and K. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, making it effective for ramping, helical interpolation, and direct plunge operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center spindles. The 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly used on vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Designed for use on CNC milling machines and machining centers with standard collet or end mill holder tooling accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per ISO material codes P, M, and K.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Seat the shank securely in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout on a 0.125-inch diameter tool accelerates edge wear and increases breakage risk. This tool does not support coolant-through delivery; apply external coolant or air blast as appropriate for the workpiece material and operation.
