The KENNAMETAL 6086554 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN, it delivers high heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting applications. The 1/32-inch diameter and 5/64-inch length of cut make it well suited for fine-detail work and tight-tolerance slots or profiles. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, while the four-flute geometry provides a strong finish on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. This tool is used by machining professionals and tool-and-die specialists working on CNC milling equipment.
This end mill is appropriate for light-duty finishing and slotting operations where small-diameter cutting is required. It is typically applied in precision machining environments such as mold making, die work, and component finishing on CNC machining centers. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems, and the 1-1/2-inch overall length allows for straightforward toolholder engagement without extended-reach concerns. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, aligning with the TiAlN coating chemistry which performs best at elevated cutting temperatures encountered in these materials.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. Belongs to the KENNAMETAL 4SE.IS-R-L-X series. Fits standard 1/8-inch collets and toolholders on CNC milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the full recommended engagement depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator before starting the cut, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout and may fracture. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier recommendations for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
