The KENNAMETAL 6086525 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built on Kennametal's 4SE.IS-R-L-X series and manufactured from KC633M grade carbide, this single-end tool features a 1-inch mill diameter, a 4-inch length of cut, and a 7-inch overall length. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and oxidation protection at elevated cutting temperatures. A 30-degree spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. With four flutes, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute direction, this end mill is optimized for productive material removal rates in ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in both roughing and finishing operations. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding operational flexibility for slotting, profiling, and ramping passes. The 1-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard CAT, BT, HSK, or Weldon-style holders. Typical applications include production machining in job shops, aerospace component machining, and general metalworking where tool life and surface finish in ferrous alloys are priorities. It is not configured for coolant-through delivery.
Designed for primary use in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials (material codes P, M, and K). Compatible with standard 1-inch bore tool holders including Weldon, hydraulic, shrink-fit, and collet-style holders used on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm the holder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the full recommended grip length. Follow the machine tool and toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for set screws or clamping mechanisms — do not over-torque.
