The KENNAMETAL 6086512 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to the KC633M material grade and coated with TiAlN for extended tool life and heat resistance, this single-end mill features four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and a right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. At 5/8 inch in diameter with a 2-1/4 inch length of cut, it delivers aggressive material removal while maintaining dimensional accuracy on finish passes. Intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, making it a versatile choice for general machining, slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. The TiAlN coating performs well at elevated cutting temperatures, which makes it a strong fit for dry or semi-dry machining strategies. The 5/8 inch shank diameter provides a rigid connection in standard ER or side-lock toolholders. With a 5-inch overall length, it can reach into moderately deep pockets without requiring extended-reach tooling.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO material codes P, M, and K). Part of the KENNAMETAL 4SE.IS-R-L-X series. Fits standard 5/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder to the recommended gauge-line depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
