The KENNAMETAL 6066131 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 12 mm cutting diameter, an 18 mm length of cut, and a 2.5 mm corner radius, this tool delivers controlled edge geometry that reduces chipping and extends tool life in aluminum, copper, brass, and similar materials. The submicron carbide grade provides rigidity and wear resistance suited to demanding milling operations. Three flutes and a high helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation, while the bright uncoated finish is matched to the non-ferrous workpiece category. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, and electricians are not the audience here - this tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 6066131 fits short-reach milling applications on non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys, brass, copper, and similar N-category materials. The extended-reach shank design, with a 36 mm reach length and 11.5 mm neck diameter, allows clearance in pocketing and profiling operations where standard-length tools would contact the workpiece. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with ER single angle standard collets. A 100 mm overall length and 12 mm shank diameter make this a practical choice for both vertical and horizontal milling setups requiring a short, stiff tool.
Designed for use with ER single angle standard collets. Intended for milling non-ferrous metals (material code N), including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Part of the KENNAMETAL ABDE series.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet nut is properly torqued before running. Confirm shank seating depth in the collet is adequate to prevent pullout during cutting. Follow the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for runout tolerance and collet condition before operation.
