Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 6025508 is a CNMG432RN indexable carbide turning insert designed for machining steel and cast iron workpiece materials. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards, it carries the ISO designation CNMG120408RN and belongs to the KENLOC series. The insert features a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 under the manufacturer grade KCPK05, delivering wear resistance and heat control at the cutting zone. With a negative rake angle, a chamfered and honed cutting edge, and four usable cutting edges per insert, it is suited for productive turning, facing, and boring operations in a variety of production environments.

This insert is used in turning applications targeting steel (ISO material code P) and cast iron (ISO material code K) at material grades P05, P15, K25, and K35. It fits turning centers and CNC lathes equipped with KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts held by clamp and pin. Typical applications include external turning, facing passes, and light boring in both job shop and production settings. The insert is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.

Key Features

  • MTCVD multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 coating for wear and crater resistance in steel and cast iron cuts
  • Four cutting edges per insert with neutral hand orientation for flexible toolholder use
  • Chamfered and honed cutting edge style for edge strength and reduced chipping risk
  • RN chip breaker geometry for chip control in turning, facing, and boring operations
  • Conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards for broad toolholder compatibility
  • Diamond 80-degree insert shape with 0.0313 inch corner radius for versatile geometry

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting CNMG432 (ISO: CNMG120408) style inserts held by clamp and pin. Compatible with P05, P15, K25, and K35 material grade applications in steel and cast iron turning operations.

Installation Notes

Indexable insert replacement is performed by a machinist or tooling technician with the machine at a full stop and all spindle motion confirmed off. Use the appropriate KENLOC clamp and pin hardware specified for CNMG-style inserts and verify the seating pocket is free of chips or debris before seating the new insert. Inspect the chip breaker orientation before clamping to confirm correct positioning. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque recommendations for the clamping screw.
