The KENNAMETAL 6001232 is a solid carbide milling insert in the LNGU series, coated with Titanium Diboride (TiB2) via a PVD process for improved wear resistance on non-ferrous workpiece materials. The insert measures 10.00 mm wide and 6.96 mm thick, with a 0.80 mm corner radius and a rectangular shape. It carries four cutting edges and a positive rake geometry with a honed cutting edge style. This insert is sold individually and is typically installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working in production milling applications.
This insert is designed primarily for milling non-ferrous metals, consistent with its N-series material application code. It fits the Mill 4-15 cutter series and is identified by ANSI code LNGU542ERGEJ and ISO code LNGU15T608ERGEJ. The GE chip breaker geometry and screw-holding method make it suited for stable, repeatable cuts in both roughing and semi-finishing operations on aluminum, copper, and similar non-ferrous alloys. Right-hand cutting orientation applies. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts.
Compatible with the Mill 4-15 cutter series. ANSI designation LNGU542ERGEJ and ISO designation LNGU15T608ERGEJ. Insert size code 542, LNGU series toolholders with right-hand orientation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder specification; do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for debris or damage before each insert change.
