The KENNAMETAL 5946065 is a 1/2-13 UNC bottoming thread forming tap manufactured from Powdered Metal High Speed Steel (HSS-E-PM) and coated with AlCrTiN for extended tool life in demanding applications. With an overall length of 4.3307 inches (110 mm) and a thread length of 0.7874 inches (20 mm), this tap is engineered for cold-forming internal threads without chip generation. The bottoming chamfer of 1.5 to 2 threads allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes. It carries a thread limit designation of H5 and is part of the KENNAMETAL Beyond trade line. Machinists and toolroom professionals working in ferrous and some non-ferrous materials will find this tap suited to precision blind-hole threading operations.
This tap is designed for blind hole threading in materials coded P and M, which covers carbon steels, alloy steels, and stainless steels.
