The KENNAMETAL 5939456 is an indexable cutoff toolholder designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the EVSM toolholder style in the Beyond Evolution series, it accepts EG0400M04P04 inserts held in place by a clamp-style insert holding method. The holder delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.63 inches and accommodates workpiece diameters up to 1.26 inches. Overall length is 6 inches with a 1 inch by 1 inch square shank. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting through-tool coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge. This toolholder is installed by machinists and CNC tool-room technicians in production turning environments.
The 5939456 is suited for parting off and external grooving on bar-fed CNC lathes handling small to medium workpiece diameters. The 1 inch square shank fits standard turning center tool blocks and quick-change turrets configured for that shank size. The clamp-style insert retention provides repeatable seating for EG0400M04P04 inserts, making it appropriate for high-production runs where insert indexing speed matters. The right-hand configuration places the cutting edge for conventional front-tool-post and gang-tooling setups.
