The KENNAMETAL 5882267 is a solid carbide turning insert with the CNMG433RN industry-standard geometry and KCP30B manufacturer grade. It features a multilayer CVD coating — TiN, TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN applied via MTCVD — engineered for steel turning applications. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge for consistent chip control and edge stability. With four usable cutting edges per insert, it delivers cost-effective performance in production turning environments. Primary workpiece material is steel, aligning with P-class ISO designation. HVAC, industrial maintenance, and precision machining shops rely on this insert for general-purpose metal removal.
This insert is suited for steel turning, facing, and boring operations in both production and job-shop settings. The RN chip breaker geometry supports a wide range of depths of cut with a maximum depth of 0.1691 inches. The 1/2-inch inscribed circle and 3/16-inch insert thickness make it compatible with standard CNMG toolholders used in CNC lathes and turning centers. It is held via clamp and pin methods, consistent with KENLOC series toolholding systems. The neutral insert hand allows mounting in a variety of right- and left-hand toolholder configurations.
Designed for use with standard CNMG-style toolholders compatible with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert, clamp and pin holding method, as specified in the KENLOC series. Multi-use application covers turning, facing, and boring of steel workpieces in CNC lathe and turning center setups.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamp surfaces are clean and free of chips before installing the new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque and seating procedures to prevent insert movement during cutting.
