The KENNAMETAL 5874161 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the GOmill 2BN series, designed for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. It features a 6 mm diameter, a 10 mm length of cut, and a 30-degree medium helix angle with two right-hand flutes in a spiral configuration. The cutting end carries a TiAlN/TiN/TiAlN PVD multilayer coating that extends tool life and supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. A 3 mm nose radius and eccentric relief geometry increase cutting edge stability and make regrinding straightforward. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production facilities install this end mill for contoured and profiled surfaces where consistent surface finish and tool life are required.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and N. The short-length profile and straight cylindrical shank conform to DIN 6527, making it a standard fit for tool holders that accept a 6 mm shank. It is a single-end tool with no chipbreaker, no variable helix, and no coolant-through capability, optimized for conventional short-reach milling passes where setup is straightforward and cycle times are tight.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit end mill for tool holders accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank per DIN 6527. Compatible with workpiece materials in ISO groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and N (non-ferrous metals).
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Use a calibrated tool holder and collet appropriate for a 6 mm straight shank to maintain runout within acceptable limits. Verify tool projection and reach against part geometry before beginning a cutting cycle.
