The KENNAMETAL 5824530 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the GOmill 4BN series, designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, 4-flute configuration, and a 1 inch length of cut, this end mill delivers consistent performance in both roughing and finishing operations. The multi-layer TiAlN/TiN/TiAlN PVD coating provides heat resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. Eccentric relief geometry increases cutting edge stability for extended tool life and improves surface quality on finished workpieces. Center-cutting capability allows direct plunging and ramping entries without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in CNC milling applications across job shop and production environments. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute design with a 30 degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in ferrous materials. The standard-length, straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders with a 3/8 inch bore. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool room technicians working with P, M, and K material classifications will find this tool suited to general-purpose profiling, slotting, and contour work.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholding systems. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO material codes P, M, and K). Part of the KENNAMETAL GOmill 4BN series; manufacturers catalog number 4BN0375IS100A.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures for toolholder torque and RPM limits.
