The KENNAMETAL 5824430 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the 4CH series standard, it features a 1-inch cutting diameter, 2.25-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0200-inch chamfer width. The TiN/TiAlN PVD coating, designated KC633M, provides thermal resistance and wear protection during aggressive cuts in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to enter the workpiece axially. Machinists and CNC operators in production shops and job shops are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals in both roughing and finishing passes. Typical applications include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. The 4-flute, right-hand helical flute configuration at a medium helix angle supports chip evacuation across these varied operations. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure, positive grip in standard milling chucks and toolholders. This tool is single-end and built for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where chamfer edge prep is required.
Compatible with standard 1-inch bore milling chucks and Weldon flat toolholders. Designed for use on CNC machining centers processing steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metal (N) workpiece materials per ISO material group classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the toolholder and tighten the set screw against the flat to prevent axial pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cut, and confirm cutting parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and operation type.
