The KENNAMETAL 5824413 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision milling of chamfered edges and corner breaks on metallic workpieces. Built to Series 4CH specifications, this single-end tool carries a TiN/TiAlN PVD coating under the material grade designation KC633M, which extends tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It measures 7/8 inches in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, a 45-degree chamfer angle, and a 0.0200-inch chamfer width. The four-flute helical geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes. Overall length is 4 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is suited for a wide range of milling operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill-mill applications, and plunging and recessing. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills running conventional setups. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole. The normal pitch and medium helix style help manage chip evacuation across the supported workpiece materials: steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.
Rated for primary workpiece materials steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and non-ferrous metals (N). Manufacturer catalog number 4CH0875IR150A. Shank diameter tolerance is plus 0.000 to minus 0.013 mm; mill diameter tolerance is minus 0.040 to minus 0.073 mm.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or manual mill operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or side-lock holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so direct external coolant or air blast toward the cutting zone for chip management.
