The KENNAMETAL 5824341 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding shop environments. Built on the Series 4CH platform, this single-end tool features a 3/16 inch diameter with a matching 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The 45-degree chamfer angle and 0.0100 inch chamfer width make it well-suited for edge breaking and chamfering operations. A TiN/TiAlN (KC633M) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life across a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom operators working in high-production or close-tolerance environments will find this tool appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and N. Its centercutting geometry supports slotting, shouldering, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting action are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. Normal pitch and a medium helix style at 30 degrees provide balanced chip evacuation without aggressive load spikes, making this a practical choice for both horizontal and vertical milling operations on a wide range of materials and part configurations.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals (ISO groups P, M, K, N). Suitable for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collets or end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the straight shank. Verify runout at the tool tip after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Consult the machining center manufacturer guidelines and applicable feeds-and-speeds data for the specific workpiece material before beginning a cut.
