The KENNAMETAL 5824230 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. With an 8 mm cutting diameter, 28 mm length of cut, and a 0.2 mm chamfer width at a 45-degree chamfer angle, it produces consistent edge breaks and chamfered profiles in a single pass. The 4-flute, right-hand helical geometry with a 30-degree helix angle supports both roughing and finishing operations. A TiAlN PVD coating from the KC633M grade provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8 mm in diameter, and overall length is approximately 74.98 mm. This is a centercutting design with no coolant-through capability.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill-mill operations, and plunging and recessing applications. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, corresponding to ISO material classifications P, M, K, and N. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers where tight tolerances and consistent chamfer geometry are required. The normal pitch and medium helix style make it a versatile choice for general-purpose shop work as well as higher-demand production environments.
Designed as a direct-use solid carbide chamfer end mill for CNC machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Also cataloged under manufacturer number 4CH0800ML028A in the Kennametal 4CH series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state before changing tooling. Use an appropriate collet or end mill holder matched to the 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank; verify runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feed rates, speeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material.
