The KENNAMETAL 5824185 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the KC633M material grade and coated with TiAlN via PVD process, this tool handles steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. The 9 mm cutting diameter, 4-flute helical geometry, and 30-degree helix angle combine to support both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. The 0.20 mm chamfer width at a 45-degree chamfer angle produces consistent edge breaks and chamfers with tight dimensional control. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in machining centers and milling machines where edge prep and profile work are required.
This end mill is suited for operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. The centercutting design enables direct plunge entry without pre-drilled pilot holes. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 10 mm diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is a single-end tool with normal pitch and a regular length of cut, making it appropriate for general-purpose milling of ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where corner chamfering or edge breaking is part of the part program.
Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals (material codes P, M, K, N). Also referenced under catalog number 4CH0900DL019A within the KENNAMETAL 4CH series.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank in a matched-bore toolholder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating the cutting program. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the tool.
