The KENNAMETAL 5824183 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding production environments. Running an 8 mm diameter with a 19 mm length of cut and a 0.2 mm chamfer width at a 45-degree chamfer angle, this tool delivers controlled edge preparation and profile accuracy in a single pass. The 4-flute, right-hand helical design at a 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with surface finish across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A PVD-applied TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under high-speed cutting conditions. Centercutting geometry enables direct plunge entry without pre-drilling.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Typical applications include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down cutting, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. It performs in close-tolerance CNC machining centers where consistent chamfer geometry and repeatable edge conditioning are required. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holders. Material grades targeted include KENNAMETAL material grade KC633M, covering a broad range of workpiece classifications.
Compatible with workpiece materials classified as steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals (material codes P, M, K, N). Also referenced under KENNAMETAL catalog number 4CH0800DL019A within the 4CH series.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tool-crib personnel. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before torquing to holder manufacturer specifications. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material grade being machined.
