The KENNAMETAL 5697937 is a CNMG642RN indexable turning insert in grade KCP10B, designed for steel and cast iron machining in turning, facing, and boring operations. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN, delivering high wear resistance on steel and moderate wear resistance with toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry with a negative rake and negative side clearance. Four cutting edges are available per insert, and the RN chip breaker geometry supports roughing and medium machining applications.
