The KENNAMETAL 5694057 is a CCMT2152LF screw-on turning insert in grade KCP25B, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness suited to steel and cast iron workpieces. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry, while the LF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and light machining passes. Insert length is 6.45 mm, inscribed circle is 0.25 inches, and corner radius is 0.0313 inches. The honed cutting edge and positive rake geometry minimize cutting forces on light cuts.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials across P and N ISO material classifications. It suits finishing and light material removal applications where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. The screw-on holding method is standard for quick indexing on compatible toolholders. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both right- and left-hand setups. It is sized to ANSI code CCMT2152 and ISO code CCMT060208, making it a common fit for a wide range of production and job-shop lathe toolholders. Sold individually; minimum order quantity of 5 applies.
Conforms to ANSI insert code CCMT2152 and ISO insert code CCMT060208. Designed to seat in screw-on CCMT-style toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch inscribed circle insert with a 0.1102-inch hole diameter. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring applications on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's recommended torque specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
