The KENNAMETAL 5665818 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation ODMT040408EN412 in grade SP6519. It features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, an octagon insert shape with 8 cutting edges, and a positive rake geometry with a 15-degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 0.5039 inches and the insert thickness is 0.1870 inches. A honed cutting edge style and 0.0312-inch corner radius (1/32 inch) support controlled engagement and edge stability during milling operations. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to material codes P, M, and S. It is a neutral-hand, single-sided insert secured by screw-holding method and is compatible with the 7745VOD04 cutter series. The 412 chip breaker geometry is suited to the cutting conditions typical of these demanding workpiece materials. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries UNSPSC code 23291601.
