The KENNAMETAL 5659867 is a solid carbide round milling insert in the RPHT series, grade SP6519, designed for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert measures 0.394 inches in inscribed circle diameter and 0.156 inches thick, with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process for extended tool life under demanding cutting conditions. Four honed cutting edges and a positive rake geometry reduce cutting forces and improve surface finish. This insert is a single-sided design held in place by a screw, making indexing straightforward during tool changes on the floor or at the machine.
This insert is suited for milling applications in metalworking environments where workpiece materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys. It carries ANSI and ISO designations (RPHT10T3M0E422X4) and is compatible with the 7713VR10 cutter series. The 422 chip breaker geometry supports chip control across a range of feed rates and depths of cut common in production and job-shop milling. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC setup technicians in manufacturing and fabrication shops.
Designed for use in the Kennametal 7713VR10 cutter series. Insert size code 10T3 with inscribed circle range of 0.350 to 0.400 inches and thickness range of 0.150 to 0.175 inches. Neutral hand orientation is compatible with standard RPHT-style pockets using screw-in insert holding.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Before indexing or replacing inserts, ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamping screw to secure the insert without over-torquing the pocket screw. Inspect the insert pocket seat and screw for damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
