The KENNAMETAL 5641365 is a CNMG432RP indexable turning insert in grade KCK20B, designed for general turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN applied via MTCVD process, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The diamond 80-degree included angle and negative rake geometry deliver strength at the cutting edge. The RP chip breaker with a chamfered and honed cutting edge style helps control chip flow and reduces edge chipping during interrupted or continuous cuts. This insert is used by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
Suited for turning and facing steel and cast iron workpieces in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The KENLOC series design is compatible with standard CNMG toolholders using clamp and pin holding methods. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and verify the clamp and pin are secured before resuming cuts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp hardware for wear or debris each time the insert is indexed to maintain positioning accuracy.
