The KENNAMETAL 5641123 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation WPMT3251LF and ISO designation WPMT06T304LF, coated with a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 finish applied via MTCVD-CVD process under the KCM15B grade. It features an 80-degree trigon (W-style) shape with a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, an 11-degree relief angle, and a honed cutting edge for controlled chip formation. With three cutting edges and a screw-on holding method, this insert is engineered for finishing and light machining operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Licensed machinists and CNC turning center operators install this insert in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in both residential-shop and industrial production settings. Its KCM15B grade delivers moderate wear resistance with sufficient toughness for steel (ISO P) workpieces and a range of high wear resistance for stainless steel (ISO M) applications. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities. The insert carries ANSI and ISO standards compliance and is a multi-use, screw-on style compatible with standard WPMT toolholders.

This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct screw torque driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the screw-on insert without stripping the pocket screw. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating surfaces for chips or wear before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and dimensional accuracy.
