The KENNAMETAL 5641113 is a solid carbide turning insert designated TNMG432MP in the ANSI system and TNMG220408 in the ISO system, manufactured under the KENLOC series with the KCM15B grade. The insert carries a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, engineered to deliver moderate wear resistance and toughness for steel (P) applications and high to moderate wear resistance for stainless steel (M) applications. With a 60-degree triangular shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0313-inch corner radius, it is suited to roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists are the primary installers of this tooling.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. The MP chip breaker geometry supports both roughing and medium-depth passes, making it versatile across production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with KENLOC-style toolholders that accept TNMG-style inserts secured by clamp or pin methods. The negative rake and negative side clearance geometry are standard for indexable insert tooling in this class.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting TNMG-style inserts with clamp or pin holding methods. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. Verify toolholder pocket specifications against the ANSI size code 432 and ISO size code 220408 before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp hardware when securing the insert — never overtighten by hand alone. Inspect the insert seat and clamp mechanism for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge alignment.
