The KENNAMETAL 5626761 is a carbide replaceable tip drill in the KSEM Plus series, designed for high-performance hole-making in steel and stainless steel applications. Carrying the KSEM1375HPG insert geometry designation and KCPM45 manufacturer grade, this tip features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process for extended wear resistance. The cutting diameter is 34.93mm (1.375 inches), the included drill point angle is 140 degrees, and the tip height is 20mm (0.787 inches). It accepts an HPG insert geometry with a size 9 insert seat and is intended for installation by machinists and toolroom technicians working with modular drilling systems.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and drilling operations involving steel (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code M). The KSEM Plus platform is used in both roughing and semi-finishing drilling passes. Supported application types include standard drilling, inclined exit drilling, and stacked-plate drilling. The two-flute, two-margin design with through-coolant capability also supports minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) setups, making it applicable in shops running dry or near-dry machining processes.
Designed for use with KSEM Plus series modular drill bodies that accept a size 9 HPG insert seat. Compatible primary workpiece materials are steel and stainless steel per ISO material codes P and M.
Installation of replaceable carbide drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. The insert seat should be inspected for chips or debris before seating the tip, and the clamp screw should be torqued using the tool manufacturer-specified driver only. Refer to the machine tool builder guidelines and the cutting tool manufacturer application data for appropriate cutting parameters. Handle carbide tips carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
