The KENNAMETAL 5626730 is a replaceable-tip drill from the KSEM Plus series, designed for high-productivity drilling in steel and stainless steel. The cutting tip is manufactured from solid carbide in a fine-grain grade designated KCPM45, and is finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating for heat resistance and extended tool life. The drill features a 25.5mm cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a helical two-flute configuration with two margins. Through-spindle coolant capability supports both flood coolant and minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) delivery. Licensed metalworking professionals and CNC machinists are the primary installers and operators of this tooling.
This replaceable-tip drill is suited for production drilling applications in ferrous workpiece materials, primarily steel (ISO material group P) and stainless steel (ISO material group M). The HPG insert geometry and KSEM Plus interface are engineered for demanding conditions including inclined entry and exit surfaces, stacked-plate configurations, and standard through-coolant drilling operations. The solid carbide tip mounts via a clamping interface at insert seat size 5, allowing fast tip exchanges without removing the drill body from the spindle.
The 5626730 tip is designed for use with KSEM Plus series drill bodies at insert seat size 5. Compatible with CNC machining centers and turning centers with through-spindle coolant capability. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M).
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with indexable carbide tooling systems. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before seating or replacing the carbide tip. Verify the insert seat and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before torquing the clamp. Confirm coolant channel alignment when through-coolant operation is required, and match coolant pressure to the machine tool specification.
