The KENNAMETAL 5626711 is a solid carbide replaceable drill tip designed for use in KSEM modular drilling systems. It carries a 0.6693 inch (17.00 mm) cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process. The tip is manufactured from fine-grain solid carbide under the KCPM45 grade designation, offering wear resistance suited to steel and stainless steel applications. Two helical flutes and a standard point geometry promote chip evacuation, while integrated through-coolant channels support both flood coolant and minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) strategies. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters install this tip as a consumable insert within a compatible KSEM drill body.
This replaceable tip is intended for drilling operations in steel and stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and M. The HPG insert geometry and regular spiral flute configuration support demanding operations including drilling into inclined exit surfaces and stacked plate configurations. The functional length measures 0.3347 inches and the overall height is 0.4527 inches (11.30 mm), with a flute length of 8.00 mm. It seats in an Insert Seat Size 1 KSEM drill body and is held in place via a clamp-style holding method, making tip changes straightforward at the machine without removing the full drill assembly.
Designed for use with KSEM modular drill bodies accepting Insert Seat Size 1 tips. Compatible drill bodies must support the KSEM series interface. Refer to the KSEM system pairing guide to confirm body-to-tip seat size matching before installation.
This tip is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC tooling technicians as part of scheduled insert maintenance. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the tool assembly. Use the correct KSEM clamping torx key to seat and secure the tip per the drill body manufacturer's assembly procedure. Do not mix seat sizes or force-fit tips, as improper seating will compromise drill accuracy and may damage the drill body seat.
