The KENNAMETAL 5608036 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It carries the manufacturer grade KC725M with a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert follows the LNPU series geometry in a rectangular shape with a positive rake angle and chamfered, honed cutting edge style. With 4 cutting edges and a right-hand orientation, it is suited for indexable milling toolholders used in production and job-shop environments. This insert is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling operations targeting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
This insert is intended for milling applications in materials classified under ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and S (superalloys and titanium). It is compatible with the Mill 4-15 cutter series and is rated for material grades C5, C6, and C7. The GE chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip formation when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys. Typical use cases include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling in both roughing and finishing passes where consistent edge life is required.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as solid carbide inserts are brittle and susceptible to cracking under excessive clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket and locating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
