The KENNAMETAL 5596455 is a CCMT3252MF solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual lathe applications. Coated with a multilayer CVD system consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN, this insert carries the KCM25B manufacturer grade and is engineered for wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It holds a 7-degree relief angle and uses a positive rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. The MF chip breaker promotes efficient chip control in finishing and medium turning operations.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is intended for use in screw-on style toolholders that accept CCMT-format inserts. With two cutting edges per insert and compatibility with both ANSI and ISO standards, it fits standard CCMT toolholder pockets in a wide range of production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing will find this insert appropriate for finishing passes and moderate stock removal on difficult-to-machine materials. The ISO code CCMT09T308MF and industry standard number CCMT3252MF apply to this insert.
Designed for screw-on style CCMT toolholders accepting the CCMT3252MF insert format. Compatible with toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO CCMT09T308MF specifications. Suitable for multi-use applications including turning, facing, and boring on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC toolsetting technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and secure with the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate torx or hex key. Inspect the insert seat and shim for debris or damage before seating a new insert, as contamination will affect insert geometry and surface finish.
