The KENNAMETAL 5591901 is a CNMG433MP grade KCM25B solid carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating consisting of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiOCN, delivered via MTCVD process, which provides high toughness on steel (P) and moderate wear-resistance with toughness on stainless steel (M). The 80-degree diamond (C) shape with a negative rake angle and neutral hand makes it a versatile choice for roughing and medium machining applications. Licensed HVAC, machining, and metalworking professionals install this insert in KENLOC-compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its MP chip breaker geometry handles roughing and medium machining cycles on steel and stainless steel workpieces. With four available cutting edges per insert and compatibility with both clamp and pin holding methods, it delivers consistent performance across a range of material grades including C1 and C2 carbide classifications. It carries dual ANSI and ISO standards recognition, with the ANSI code CNMG433 and ISO code CNMG120412.

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered off and spindle locked. Use the appropriate KENLOC clamp or pin-lock toolholder and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and runout. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
