The KENNAMETAL 5591716 is a solid carbide turning insert with the industry designation CNMG433MN and manufacturer grade KCP40B. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake and side clearance geometry. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0469 inches (3/64 inches). The KCP40B grade carries a multilayer MTCVD coating system — TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 — engineered to deliver high toughness in steel applications and moderate wear resistance with toughness in stainless steel. It is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians on turning centers, lathes, and boring machines.

This insert is designed for roughing and medium machining operations on steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) workpieces. Applicable operations include turning, facing, and boring. The KENLOC series insert uses a clamp and pin holding method, and with four cutting edges, it offers multiple index positions before replacement.
