The KENNAMETAL 5588937 is a trigon-style indexable drill insert designed for use in indexable insert drills in metalworking and machining operations. Built from carbide substrate with a PVD-applied TiN coating, the insert delivers consistent cutting performance in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The MD chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation, reducing the risk of chip packing in deep-hole drilling applications. With an inscribed circle of 0.6930 inches (17.60 mm), an included angle of 84 degrees, and a corner radius of 1.20 mm, this insert is matched to precision toolholder systems where dimensional accuracy and repeatability are required.
This insert is suited for production drilling in machining centers, CNC lathes, and turning centers where indexable drill bodies using the DFT insert style are employed. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in steel, cast iron, and similar materials in industrial and job-shop environments.
